Wood

Trees or climbing plants that produce wood of a workable quality.

Very light wood
Fast growing trees that produce very lightweight wood.

Light wood
Usually fast growing trees that produce lightweight or moderately dense wood that is often used as timber.

Heavy wood
Trees that produce dense, heavier wood most commonly used for higher quality products such as furniture, flooring, musical instruments and arts and crafts, rarely as timber.

Pale wood
Trees that produce light colored wood.

Dark wood
Trees that produce dark colored wood. Trees with dark heartwood and light sapwood would also be found here.

Reddish wood
Trees that produce wood with a reddish tinge.

Rot resistant wood
Trees that produce wood which is resistant to rot and can be used outside and in places where it is exposed to frequent or constant moisture.

Insect resistant wood
Trees that produce wood which is resistant to attack by insects, mainly termites and beetles.

Rattan
Climbing palms with stems that can be processed for use as rattan cane.
