Ornamental Value

Judging ornamental value to a large extent is a matter of individual taste, style and preference, and is totally unfair as it has nothing to do with a plant's ecological success. It still is an excellent guideline for how to use a plant in the ornamental garden.

Average
Plants that are often grown for benefits other than their ornamental value. These may include background plants or fruit trees that do not have to excel as outstanding ornamentals.

Pretty
Plants with good ornamental value.

Beautiful
Plants with high ornamental value.

Breathtaking
Stunning plants that never go unnoticed in the ornamental garden.

One of a kind
Only the most magnificent looking plants, the true show stoppers, but beware, many of them are primadonnas with very exacting requirements.
